Organization/ Investment Team

In May of 2003, Ranger began managing long-only small and mid capitalization portfolios (“Small Cap” and “Mid Cap” respectively).  For both strategies, the Ranger Investment Team implements an investment style that can best be described as quality growth.  The investment process seeks to identify rapidly growing, high-quality and high-recurring revenue companies.

Since inception, Ranger has also managed two styles of concentrated portfolios and accounts: Small-Cap Select portfolios and Mid-Cap Select portfolios, both of which are invested in approximately eight (8) to fifteen (15) names typically found in the more diversified Small-Cap and Mid-Cap portfolios.

Investment Team

Ranger’s Investment Team is lead by portfolio manager Conrad Doenges (the “PM”), who assumed this role when he joined the Investment Team in September 2004.  Mr. Doenges worked at John McStay Investment Counsel from January 1998 through June 2004 where he was a member of a team that at its peak managed over $5 billion in small and mid cap assets for institutional clients.  Prior to that Mr. Doenges worked at Friess Associates.

Ranger’s Investment Team employs a collaborative approach to the management of the firm’s investment strategies. The Investment Team is structured in such a way so that the majority of decisions, including stock selection, are made as a team; however, if a consensus can not be reached, the PM has the ultimate decision-making authority and oversight for the product.
